Longleaf Academy Admissions

DESCRIPTION
Receives daily resource intervention during the scheduled class; intervention based upon the student’s present level of academic performance; trimester goals are developed; measurement of progress is provided.
Grades are provided to the school for the subject of service, based upon the student’s trimester progress.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

DESCRIPTION
Students receive three (3) 45-minute sessions each week to provide support in general education classes or reading concentration. Resource teachers will work with the student’s general education teachers to assist the student either in reading/writing or content area curriculum. Available to students First through Fifth grade who are receiving other Longleaf Services or students in grades Fourth and higher who are not receiving other Longleaf Services.

Criteria for Resource Programs
Verbal I.Q.
The candidate’s verbal I.Q. should be an average range of 90 or higher.
General Ability Index
The candidates General Ability Index (GAI) should be an average range of 90 or higher.
Discrepancy
A discrepancy in at least one of the following areas: reading, written language, math, or comprehension.
Applying for Longleaf Academy Resource Programs
Completed Resource Application
This should also include the parent questionnaire; teacher questionnaire should be submitted to the child’s teacher and be mailed to Longleaf Academy upon completion.
Psycho-Educational Testing
Report must be signed by a licensed professional. Report must be within the last three years and include I.Q. information.
Release of Information
Signed by parent including permission to observe the student in his/her present school.

Reduced Tuition Scholarships
Longleaf Academy may provide “Reduced Tuition Scholarship (RTS)” for families who meet criteria and provide financial documentation to support need.
Disclaimers
If the family is “waitlisted” for the ESA+ Scholarship and is later granted the ESA+ Scholarship, then Longleaf Academy reserves the right to withdraw or reduce the RTS originally offered. This is to ensure that the school can allocate its scholarship resources effectively and fairly among all eligible families.
Criteria
- Families who pay three or more private school tuitions with a gross combined family income of less than 90K.
- Enlisted military families whose yearly gross combined income is less than 80K per year.
- Single parent families whose yearly gross combined income is less than 80K per year.
Policy
- It is Longleaf Academy’s policy to prayerfully consider all requests for Reduced Tuition Scholarships. Families are required to provide two consecutive years of Income Tax documentation. Failure to provide documentation will disqualify the family from consideration.
- Students who receive an NC State Education Assistance Authority (NC-SEAA) Scholarships:
- ESA+ and Opportunity Scholarship together are exempt from requesting a Reduced Tuition Scholarship from Longleaf Academy, Inc.
- Opportunity Scholarship only, may be granted between $2,000.00-$3,000.00 Reduced Tuition Scholarship, if the family meets the criteria above.
- ESA+ Scholarship only, may be $1,000.00-$3,000.00 Reduced Tuition Scholarship, if the family meets the criteria above.
