SUMMER ACADEMY REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2023
LONGLEAF SUMMER ACADEMY
Each year, children who struggle with reading attend Longleaf Academy’s intense 4-week summer program. In the Summer Academy program, children will acquire powerful word attack and spelling skills using the Orton-Gillingham Approach.
Registration is open for the 2023 Longleaf Academy Summer Reading Academy program. Please contact Longleaf Academy for summer academy waiting list.
We are offering two locations: On the Episcopal Day School campus in Southern Pines, NC, and at Saint Patrick's Catholic School in Fayetteville, NC.
Students will meet in a 5:1 student/teacher ratio for 90-minutes Monday through Thursday for 4 weeks.
Longleaf’s Summer Reading Academy is a productive way to “jump-start” struggling readers. Most students make 25-30% reading growth in just four short weeks because Longleaf Academy uses the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham Approach.
The secret to our success is our structured and sequential lesson plan that trains the “reading brain” in a whole to part/part to whole manner and engages the student’s cognitive skills.
